LONDON, April 18, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Cialis Ltd., the world's largest erectile dysfunction drugmaker, today announced that it has reached an agreement with GlaxoSmithKline(NYSE: GSK) for the sale of rights to the erectile dysfunction medication Cialis from its wholly owned subsidiary (LSE).
The Company also entered into an agreement with Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., an American company, for the exclusive sale of rights for Cialis from the United States Patent & WARNING firm. Teva will provide a significant portion of the Company's erectile dysfunction drug portfolio for its Teva India subsidiary, as well as for Teva's U. S. subsidiary, Teva UK.
Under the terms of the agreement, GlaxoSmithKline will own the rights to the erectile dysfunction medication and will manufacture and distribute the drug in the UK and the US. The Company also will own rights to rights to the generic version of Cialis, which are currently available for sale in the US and the UK. The Company has a global patent on the erectile dysfunction medication for the US and the UK, as well as an international patent for Cialis, and a licensing agreement with Teva. The Company has also been granted rights under the intellectual property rights of its subsidiary and has entered into an agreement with Teva for the sale of the Cialis brand from the United Kingdom and the US.
